STATEMENT ON INFORMATION OBLIGATION

Privacy policy from 01.06.2018

The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to Sensotix GmbH (‘Sensotix’, ‘we’, ‘us’). We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) and the Telecommunications Act (‘TKG 2003’). In this privacy policy, we inform you about how we process your data on our website.

Contact with us

If you contact us by e-mail, your personal data (your e-mail address, the e-mail message and the other data provided) will be stored by us for three years for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

Cookies

Our website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your end device with the help of the browser. They do not cause any damage.
We use cookies to continuously improve our website and customise it to the needs of our customers. Cookies have different storage periods (e.g. either until you leave our website again, until a certain period or until they are deleted) and different purposes.
If you do not want this, you can set up your browser so that it informs you about the setting of cookies and you only allow this in individual cases.
If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of our website may be restricted.

Our website uses performance and web analysis cookies. These cookies collect anonymised information - i.e. without allowing any conclusions to be drawn about you - about the usage habits of visitors to our website. Such information may include, for example, the time at which the website is accessed most frequently or which (sub)pages are visited most often. This information is summarised and analysed using performance and web analysis tools in order to gain insights into the use, user-friendliness and functionality of the website and to be able to continuously develop it further. These cookies are therefore important for improving the quality of our products. Furthermore, such cookies are used to analyse the number of page views and other indicators for the performance of websites or apps.

Performance and web analysis

Our website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics of the company Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA. Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on the websites, your IP address will be shortened by Google beforehand within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The relationship with the web analytics provider is based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (‘Privacy Shield’). Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of the Sensotix website. The Sensotix website also uses the UserID analytics functions to track interaction data. This user ID is also anonymised and encrypted and is not associated with any other data.

Newsletter

You have the option of subscribing to our newsletter via our website. For this purpose, we process the following personal data from you: Email address, name, as well as usage behaviour in relation to the newsletter (frequency of opening the newsletter, country of residence when opening the newsletter). By entering your e-mail address, you consent to receiving the newsletter and the associated data processing.
As soon as you have registered for the newsletter, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with a link to confirm your registration.
You can cancel your subscription to the newsletter at any time. Please send your cancellation to the following email address: newsletter@sensotix.com. We will then immediately delete your data in connection with the newsletter dispatch.

Use of the mailing service provider ‘MailChimp’

The newsletter is sent using ‘MailChimp’, a newsletter dispatch platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in this notice, are stored on MailChimp's servers in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and analyse the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp may, according to its own information, use this data to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimise the sending and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes in order to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or pass it on to third parties.

We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement ‘Privacy Shield’ and thus undertakes to comply with EU data protection regulations. You can view MailChimp's privacy policy here.

Statistical survey and analyses

The newsletters contain a so-called ‘web-beacon’, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. As part of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval, is initially collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times.
The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our endeavour nor that of MailChimp to observe individual users. The analyses serve us much more to recognise the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

Online access and data management

There are cases in which we direct newsletter recipients to the MailChimp website. For example, our newsletters contain a link that newsletter recipients can use to retrieve the newsletter online (e.g. in the event of display problems in the email programme). Newsletter recipients can also correct their data, such as their email address, at a later date. MailChimp's privacy policy is also only available on their website.

In this context, we would like to point out that cookies are used on MailChimp's websites and that personal data is therefore processed by MailChimp, its partners and the service providers used (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in MailChimp's privacy policy. We would also like to draw your attention to the options for objecting to the collection of data for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European area).

 Cancellation/revocation

You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. Your consent to the sending of the newsletter via MailChimp and the statistical analyses will expire at the same time. Unfortunately, it is not possible to cancel the sending of the newsletter via MailChimp or the statistical analyses separately.
You will find a link to unsubscribe from the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.

Legal basis of the General Data Protection Regulation

In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applicable from 25 May 2018, we inform you that the consent to the sending of e-mail addresses is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, 7 GDPR. The use of the mailing service provider MailChimp, the implementation of statistical surveys and analyses as well as logging of the registration process are based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR or on your consent. We are interested in using a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves both our business interests and the expectations of users.

Your Rights

In principle, you have the rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, cancellation and objection.

We would also like to point out that you can object to the future processing of your personal data at any time in accordance with the legal requirements pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR. In particular, you may object to processing for direct marketing purposes.

Under the Data Protection Act, you have a right to free information about your stored data. This information is of course free of charge. If you have any questions about this privacy policy or would like to complete, change or delete your data, please contact us using the contact details below.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you can complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the data protection authority.
